I loved my Sony Playstation and still to this day vividly remember getting one on my 15th birthday, on November 19th 1995, along with a copy of Tekken. With its huge library of classic Playstation games, I wanted to give a shout to 5 classic playstation games that you may have over looked back in the day:
Dino Crisis 2
This is better than any of the Resident Evil games on the original Playstation – there, I’ve got it out of my system (and I love the Resi games too!) This classic playstation game is like an action movie, where you play the main part. I loved the story and the cheesy voice acting. To this day, it still kills me that Capcom never wrapped up the story to this game.
Alundra
“Have you seen that game that looks like Zelda?” was what one of my friends asked me one day. He was talking about Alundra. His reference to Zelda sparked my curiosity and I certainly was not disappointed. This is a great action based RPG that if you like the old Zelda games then you will no doubt fall in love with Alundra.
Disc World
I first encountered this game on a demo disc that came with the Official UK Playstation magazine. I think I must have played through that demo at least 50 time,s before I got the full game. Disc World is a point and click adventure game that has a great and funny story and a whole bunch of fantastic characters.
Die Hard Trilogy
Three games for the price of one – don’t mind if I do! Wait, all three are really good games as well – even better! This was a great movie licensed game and I honestly loved all three games on the disc. I know that many people found Die Hard With A Vengeance hard to control, but I loved it. But, my favourite was the on rails light gun shooter Die Hard 2.
Crash Team Racing
Many gamers (my self included) thought that this was nothing more than Sony’s way of cashing in and trying to get some of the Mario Kart audience. Well, that may be true, but this is also a fantastic cart racing game. Its fast, its fun and in multi player you will have an absolute blast. It’s just such a shame that so many people see it as a Mario Kart rip off. It is…but a damn good one! I would even go as far to say I prefer this to Mario kart 64!
